Relieving Your Discomfort
As a chiropractor, Dr. Whitted focuses on assisting your body in working the way it was intended to.
The reduction or resolution of pain and other health conditions happens when we remove interference to the nervous system. This interference, called a subluxation, decreases the flow of information between the brain and body, which creates symptoms such as discomfort.
Some of the common issues we help our patients with include:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
Getting You Results
We understand that you’re seeking immediate relief, and you’ll receive an adjustment on your first visit after a thorough examination. X-ray facilities are located on-site to help us gain a deeper understanding of your condition. Before starting, Dr. Whitted will explain the adjustment to you and demonstrate how the drop table works. We’ll begin slowly and only adjust the areas that need it. Open communication is always encouraged at the practice, so please let us know at any time if we can make you more comfortable.
Restoring and Maintaining Communication between Mind and Body is the Sole Purpose of Chiropractic!
The primary adjusting techniques we use include the following.
We’ll use fingertips to deliver a series of rapid taps to just the right places along your spine as a way of evaluating how it moves through what should be normal ranges of motion.
After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints.
- AK Applied Kinesiology
Testing the strength of specific muscles of your body helps us find structural, chemical and mental problems and monitor your results.
Thompson Terminal Point technique is a system of analysis and a special table that reduces the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine.
- Toggle Recoil
While lying on your side, we’ll use our hands to deliver a quick contact to the upper bones of your spine. Your body does the rest.
While many health problems can be traced to the spine, wrists, elbows, shoulders and knees, other joints of the body can be helped as well.
- Trigger Point
By applying direct pressure or stretching of the affected muscle, we can reduce muscle spasms and flush out pooled blood and accumulated toxins.
A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is the primary chiropractic treatment method for back pain.
Spinal manipulation relieves pressure on joints, reduces inflammation, and improves nerve function. It has been a trusted form of treatment since the ancient Greek Hippocrates documented manipulative techniques in his writings back in 1500 B.C. Today, spinal manipulation is used to treat conditions such as allergies, menstrual cramps and headaches.
How Does Spinal Manipulation Work?
There are well over 100 types of adjustment techniques used by chiropractors throughout the world. Some practitioners may use force and twisting, while other techniques are more gentle. Regardless of how they are performed, these techniques are intended to restore or enhance joint function with the objectives of reducing pain and resolving joint inflammation.
When vertebrae shift out of place, there is an overall systemic response from the muscular system to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow, our nerves, our immune system, and our minds cannot function at their highest peak.
Overall, spinal adjustments and manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level without any discomfort. When the body is adequately aligned, it becomes able to respond and perform as it was built to do.
